Site: Washington Square Park

Duration: 8 minutes

I preformed this object in Washington Square Park. I started my performance sitting down for 4 minutes waiting for stranger to approach me. Then i got up and started to roam around the park, receiving all kinds of weird looks and some comments too. At the end, i decided to sit down next to a large group of pigeons that flew right behind me after a dog ran into them.

reflection:

preforming in general for me is a very foreign idea. I thought I will not have to preform anything in my life and that I will never get a chance to do so too. But preforming this object was really fun and inspiring. I got a chance to expand my levels of understanding people’s perception of art outside of galleries and into their common space. I genuinely enjoyed people’s comment and laughs at me, because it’s part the performance, it adds more fun and humor to my performance’s concept. If I had a chance to do this performance again, I would perform for a longer time, and roam around more, to get different reactions.
