Memory as Re-Cognition

For this project I decided to build a panorama of a golf course, or a hole within the course to be more exact. Golf is something that I’ve been around since I was born and I knew that I wanted to incorporate it into this project, I just didn’t know how. When searching for my materials I found the pieces of wood that I used above. I noticed that as I layered them they looked quite like hills or mountains, which inspired me to make the panorama. I had brought in some green bubblewrap to class and thought that it might be an interesting texture to add as the grass, and to create a separation between what would be the rough, green, and fairway I used fabric scraps that I had grabbed when I found the wood and had a vague idea of what I wanted to make. For the golf cart, I used wire. I think that the wire material was interesting because it gives a sense of structure and chaos all at once. The golf cart is where I spent most of my time when golfing as a child, and I had a lot of fun in it, which means that it was pretty chaotic, but it was also a structure that I knew to stay in most of the time.
