One Hundred Green Treasures

This project  is a memory map that showcases my love for nature. Back in Moscow, there was a huge park across the street from my house, where I could escape the noise of the city. I lost this privilege when I moved to New York. It wasn’t so easy to find the contact with nature here, in the Big Apple (especially when I didn’t have time to go to the Central Park), so every bush or tree became my little treasure.

The project started from a series of photographs that I took on the way from Union Square to MoMA. Then I extended it by adding a real plant – a basil seed that I took care of – and a video about it growing. There were 99 photographs of the trees and the basil became no.100.
