All the World’s a Stage

All the world’s a stage

And all the men and women merely players

– William Shakespeare

This work was inspired by the Japanese Kabuki Theater and the vibrant life of the Union Square. I took photographs of people on the US and then adjusted them in Photoshop to imitate the style of the Japanese screens. I changed the color of the people’s faces and hair to make them look like the Kabuki actors and designed three patterns to use as a background. Finally, I chose three haiku poems that suited the mood of the collage and created a triptych. Each separate piece consists of a collage work and a suitable haiku on top of an organic background. I only used my own photographs for this work.
