Machine Planning: Multiple Perspectives

image2image1

This project begin with ous studying the problem, different from other projects this one was in groups of three in which we each had a different problem to solve inside a bigger picture. Our first step was going to Chelsea to collect information. We found that Chelsea was a very unique neighborhood. unlike many of the other neighborhoods I actually had frequent Chelsea a lot since I moved to New York and every time I visited also. For me Chelsea was  a place where I went to dinner with my family, to art exhibitions with my father and to hangout with my friends. I must say that the few times we have been to this neighborhood to research this projects has made me see Chelsea in a completely different way, because this time im not only focusing on what I am doing but also in the vibrant colors and the streets and the sounds and actually paying attention to little details which is hard to do when your purpose is not reasearch. My assigned sense was texture and I found that the best way to describe Chelsea with texture was through its stone streets, the multiple different canvases that fill its galleries, and fabric because of all the high-end designer stores. To be honest when I said I wanted to do texture I thought it would be an easy sense to describe but it is not easy to represent a neighborhood as full and big as Chelsea into a few textures. Our first plan was to make a simple machine that would represent the multiple shoes clicking, the canvas and give out perfume smell that would represent the high-end stores but even though the ide stayed the same our method of delivering it slightly changed as you can see on the very messy sketches above.
