Parsons work 2015-2019

Cooper Hewitt trip // Studio 1

As a class, we got the opportunity to visit the Cooper Hewitt museum of design. It was an amazing opportunity since it was all about interaction. I definitely gained inspiration for future classes such as space and materiality. Also, I enjoyed learning about posters and typography. It is one of the few museums I have visited that I’ve enjoyed every single exhibited work.

During the trip I observed the Pixar room. This room gave me various ideas for the upcoming circus project. I admired how the creators of some of the pixar characters and animations planned out their work through series of sketches, notes, and diagrams. This reminded me of the circus we will create since it will be composed of several characters. If each person in the class provides a mood board, and a design process for each of their parts we will most likely create an incredible installation.

Notes on posters:

-activate the diagonal. Use angeled lines to guide the eye and suggest motion and depth
-make a system. Create rules that build a recognizabke identity over time
-make eye contact. Connect visually with the viewers  by looking at them in the eye
-manipulate scale. Use unrepeated contrasts in size to change the viewers relationship with the story
Some of my favorite pieces:
