One Point Perspective // Drawing and Imaging

This project was incredibly challenging, but I learned many things. We went to the public library as a class and we were given the option to choose a spot to draw. I chose to draw a hallway in the second floor. I sketched, measured, and used angles to draw. When I got to the class I realized that I needed to make several adjustments. My converging lines were not all meeting at the vanishing point, and arches and tiles were not measured perfectly. After various edits and re-drawing I was able to execute my one point perspective drawing.

Vocabulary learned:

vanishing point

converging lines

orthogonal lines

picture plane

cone of vision

one point perspective

two point perspective

eye level/horizon line

central ray of vision

station point

diminution

Materials used:

-t-square

-ruler

-angle finder

-compass

-graphite pencils

-triangle
