bridge 2 post

For my bridge 2 project, we were prompted to make camouflage for a partner in our studio class. My partner was Hanna Benchimol, and her memoir was leaving Brazil to go to high school in New York. One of the biggest components of her memory was that she was originally interested in food and culinary studies, but her hobbies changed to loving and appreciating fashion and design. She loves streetwear and high fashion, so I decided to make her a flag camouflage (in the style of standing out). I used Gucci as a background for my prototype/draft and final. The flames were a prototype for my draft, but I decided they took away and were too maximalist. The emblem in the middle of the flag is the shape of the flag from her hometown, Manaus, a large river town in Brazil. I incorporated the rest of her favorite brands, YSL, Balenciaga, and Off-White, with a skull on top because it is her favorite symbol. I thought a flag would be a way to stand out and dazzle those around her as she continues living and thriving in New York City.
