Reflection

For a stranger, adapting into a new environment can be very difficult. In the article, the author talks about how a stranger comes from anxious, nervous, to totally comfortable in a new environment. I also think the situation can be very different base on the characteristics of the people. For extroverts, they might enjoy going to a new place, meeting new people and getting new challenges. But for introverts, they can get nervous and uncomfortable when they have to leave their comfort zone. For example, when I had to leave the middle school where I knew everyone and everyone knew me, going into a boarding high school where I know no one, I was very anxious. To smoothen my anxiety, I connected with freshman before school even started, so when I came to the school during orientation, I felt easier because I knew someone from the school.
