Throughout both my essay and my video (Int. Studio), I focused on two themes: rebellion and time. The idea of childhood links them as it is a time to be silly and rebellious in life. By handing in my essay in a boat shape, I expressed that childishness.
The essay itself is structured in as a “dérive” is. Fundamentally messy (a whole block and not paragraphs, not organised by themes, etc.), even though the events happen chronologically. Again, the theme of time appears.
The process of unfolding the paper in order to read the text is a way of showing my process of unfolding my memory in order to write a memoire.
