The Poetics of Time

This particular assignment made me meditate about myself towards my surrounding. As I was observing carefully my activities, moods, feelings in the relationship with the community and space, I learned more about who I am and how I perceive the world shaped by my religion and culture. The first composition was about how I record time using a metaphor, so I thought about how a sponge sucks all the water in and it gets bigger. That’s how I think about recording what I have learned and memories of the past. The second composition was about habits and routines, so I thought about creating a  mind map to show all the things that I do on my weekdays when I have a routine. Then, the third one was about measuring time, and I directly thought about meals, but I realized that things that mark even more my time are what I drink. So I did a flow chart of what I usually drink in the morning, in the afternoon and at last, in the night, and then I do it again. The fourth composition was about how I perceive time in a different way than the rest, so I did a collage showing how I am always thinking about my past and worried about the future so I forget about living my present. Then, the fifth composition was about life changes, and I did how I have changed my way of thinking by learning about different cultures and living a different experience away from my home. The next composition was about time and motion and how we can track things in motion by forces of nature so I portrayed the footprints of the people when are walking in the rain and then step into a dry floor, they leave footprints but as the time pass, they disappear. Then, the seventh composition was about signs of time and thinking about things that I had to do, I realize that a way to track time is by looking at my laundry basket. I know that it has passed a week or two for it to be filled up. The eight composition was about mapping time, so for one day I had to track my activities and how I felt in the different places that I went. And the last composition was about modeling time thinking about scientific models, so I thought about the DNA structure in a frequency chart. I how in the morning I usually don’t have much activity but then as the time passes, I have so much do to, and at the last of the day it decreases again.
