When I look at the drawings, I realize that it is a way to express our thoughts. Without caring about doing it perfectly, and just letting our thoughts flow, we disconnect ourselves of this world that demands beauty and perfection. In this way, we experience our deep thinking, our doubts and our wonders about the world we live in. As I was curating my drawings, I found three main themes that gather them. The first one is about women, or in other words, feminism. I focused on the shape of the body of women without hiding any of its parts. I have always been interested and involved in the role of women in society, and how this differs based on the culture and religion. On the other hand, I did some drawings based on different cultures, due to the influence of the visit of the MET. Although, since I came to college, I have been learning about different cultures from my classmates. Enriching my knowledge has made me understand better the world and made me realize that not everything is black and white, like people used to tell me in my high school. Finally, I did some abstract drawings, and I think that represents the moments that I was letting myself flow without stopping, so those drawings guided me to my others themes. In conclusion, I think that this particular assignment, not only relaxed me in some way but made me see my thinking and issues of the world, that are going around in my head. In this way, I found that I could be combining the idea of feminism with cultures and come up with a topic for my research paper.
