Into the final stretch — iterating

Moving into the final stretch of the lab, and towards completing this version my final deliverable. I would like to user test this version of the site as much as possible, with colleagues here in the lab, with members of Civic Hall, as well as with members of the South Bronx community. In an ideal situation, and perhaps in addressing what this project will become in the future, based on the feedback gained through use testing in each community, I would like to further iterate the design and presentation of this site.

One issue I would like to address in the future is economizing the visual aesthetic of the site. This means that I believe there are some areas where I could use less text, perhaps designing graphic representations to assist in communicating informational or instructional aspects of the site. This would require more time to develop the project this semester, as well as more use testing a new version, both of which I do not believe I would be able to accomplish this semester.

I am looking forward to presenting my project next week to my partner, as well as to show how far my project has come to those who have helped me with it here in the Lab (shouts again to p4p group, and to De-Ann). It is truly bittersweet to think about a type of finale for this version of the project, and for my experiences this semester, but I feel that the research I’ve started will carry on outside of this lab and inform new projects.
