I A.M LIGHT

This project is about finding the possibility of myself and making a meaningful doll. First, we did the sketches. From sketches, I learn that the sketch of the doll needs to have back view, front view and side view. Then, we draw the pattern of the doll. The important things are that always remember to draw 1/2 seam allowance and notches and mark my patterns with name, pieces and back or front side. After this, we start to sew it by the muslin. For my prototype, the legs of my doll were shrink together. So I asked teacher about this and found out I need to cut the extra seam allowance inside the doll. After I cut it, my legs were not shrink anymore. Finally, I made my watermelon doll, and I learn that the fabric choosing for the doll is also important, because if the fabric is too thin, the polyfill will come out through the fabric. I feel very happy to make my doll. We also put our inspiration words and a brain inside the doll. I think those words and the brain will always encourage me in the future.

For this project, I went to a toy fair to see many different kinds of toys. Then I drew some toy sketches and started to make demo. I also did a doll in class.
