Paul Klee was born on December 18, 1879, in Münchenbuchsee, Switzerland. He had a musician family, so music influences his artwork a lot. He was a painter, printmaker, musician and German nationality’s draughtsman. During the interwar period, he became an instructor in a German art school named Bauhaus. He thought that “the material world was only one among many realities open to human awareness”(Paul Klee. [Internet]. 2016. TheArtStory.org website). A story about Klee is that he had traveled to Tunisia in 1914, and then he drew the landscape of Tunis by using watercolor. From that place, he changed his relationship with color. Later, Klee fell ill with a disease named Progressive schleroderma, so his later art works were relate to the pain, grief and resilience.
