Since my Integrative topic was Migrate, in both classes our professors wanted to focus on what that word meant and how it can be shown through mapping. For our BIG semester project my group decided to study and map the CitiBike system focusing only on stations along Broadway Street. Why Broadway? Well, our professors decided that we would focus on that street because it does start at the bottom of Manhattan and runs to the very top (and even further through upstate NY). While mapping and dissecting the CitiBike system, we found that bike safety is a real issue. CitiBike doesn’t have an efficient way of promoting bike safety. So, we created an intervention presentation, which involved us handing our keychains we created to CitiBike users.
