I had many ideas in terms of how I could use the pattern we designed. Immediately, I envisioned it as a virtual billboard, or a screen that projects the design on a building. It could be simply for the aesthetics of it, or to promote a fashion brand that uses crazy & wild patterns like this one. Imagine this at night. A mini Times Square indeed. Furthermore, having something such as a screen lit at a place like Union Square, it will emphasize the elements of the location even more, and make it stand out even more.
IDEA 2 – Bench
Ever since I was younger I would look at simple everyday objects and think to myself ‘what can make this more special’. I thought back to this idea and decided to make this bench a “fun” bench, which in turn makes the environment of Union Square a lot more accurate to its description. Plus, seeing a bench like this would make me want to go and sit there given its aesthetics and will even make my day happier. It’s a simple object with a touch of “salt”, it makes it special.
IDEA 3 -Recycle Bins
Design attracts people. No matter what the subject is, if it has an interesting aesthetic, people will catch on to it and be intrigued. Why not use this for good? Attract more people to the recycling bins, and help emphasize the importance of it along with making people want to make this planet a happier and better place, which is reflected in the print!
