Everything is design, literally. It takes knowledge, creativity, and innovation to be a successful
designer. Here’s the thing, everyone subconsciously or not, is a designer. Everything is life
ranging from fashion to plain everyday objects or simple visual things is design. Isn’t this eye
opening?
The way I see it, creativity is not just an opportunity. It’s much more than that. It’s a responsibility. This responsibility affects every person, place and experience. Design is a way to reach full potential when it comes to creativity and innovation. Thinking about how a human, or a being will interact with a certain ‘thing’ is very important, and that’s what great designers are constantly thinking about. These ‘beings’ (animal, plant, human, etc.) are interacting with “it”. Now, what is “it”? What do these beings interact with? Literally everything.
Here’s something I believe not a lot of people comprehend, and what makes a difference between an average designer and someone who’s mind is always a step further; use what you have. Redesigning design by resilience is key to successfully make a change, and as designers, respond to the more complex global risks, everyday little troubles, or simply innovate an old vintage fashion trend. This is how diverse the concept of ‘design’ is. It branches out to concepts we might not even realize has anything to do with ‘design’, but it truly does. It takes originality and it takes experimentation and failure to reach a certain level of an innovative design, for whatever area of design. This applies to fashion, architecture, graphic design, industrial design, and even the layout of a word document! It’s not purely aesthetics nor wholly analytical and functional. It’s how both fit together in harmony. Design is visually stimulating yet problem solving. Design is wanting to improve the things we observe. Design is literally everything around us, and we don’t realize that there was a huge amount of thoughts and decisions behind creating and designing everything in our everyday life. We are surrounded by the one thing that every single person in his world experiences every single day; design.
