This project is to make a two minutes film by editing and cutting different video footages from the Prelinger Archive. It expands the use of media includes moving images and sounds.
The film has six stages:
- The experience of slowness of time.
that feels like it will never end - The experience of speed #1
time going quickly, can’t keep up! (In this edit use only sound from the found footage) - The experience of speed #2
time going quickly, can’t keep up! (In this edit use only your own recorded sound and sound from the in class recording session.) - Point of view #1
One event perceived by two different people, or perceived two different ways. - Point of View #2 (Split Screen)
One event perceived by two different people, or perceived two different ways.
Create a Split Screen in Premiere - Demonstrate
The Kuleshov Effect
I combined the six short edits into one film and they were cutting from the footages only, no video effects at all.
After this project, I found my interests in editing films and medias. I started to appreciate the film makers that they were very thoughtful about the frame structures, the sounds, and the images when they were making films.
