Riso printing is environmentally friendly and cost-effective, where it’s very cheap and fast. It prints using specific spot colors so the color results will be different based on different types of paper. Risograph printing is suitable for art prints, such as magazines, books, and postcards. Where I found interesting is that its colors are soy-based and the stencils made from banana fibers. The handmade technique can make people feel more involved when producing their work, and vibrant colors create contrast but also catch people’s attention.

Throughout the research, I realize that during the process of making dyes, there are dyes released into the environment, flow into the river, and pollute the river. This kind of behavior not only pollutes the environment but also relates to human health and biological life and death. Chemicals in the dye can also be toxic. Imagine that if a large amount of dye processed every day in the world, it would lead to an unimaginable consequence. As the article said, nature dye would be a much safer and benefit option.

This observation is the first time I have observed and recorded information in one place. I enjoy this process very much. During the practice observation, I saw some small details that I wouldn’t normally care about. Sometimes I feel curious or confused about what I see, but there are also many warm moments. I learned more about the weather at the time and compared it with the weather in my hometown. I am also looking forward to the results obtained in these four different observations.
