Masha Chlenova (Part-time Faculty of Visual Studies) curated an exhibition dedicated to the centennial of the Russian revolution at IPCNY. This exhibition at the International Print Center New York presents a selection of iconic printed works of the Russian avant-garde – posters, books, and ephemera by such key figures as Gustav Klucis, El Lissitzky and Elizaveta Ignatovich – that reflect the idealistic collective drive to build a new socialist society based on individual freedoms and equality. Works by contemporary artists Yevgeniy Fiks and Anton Ginzburg address the continued resonance of this legacy from today’s perspective.
