History Faculty Amanda Bellows published her first book earlier this year called, American Slavery and Russian Serfdom in the Post-Emancipation Imagination In this book it compares American slavery to Russian Serfdom. She was able to find a lot of similarities because both nations were seeking patriarchal visions in society. This book was able to bring back post-emancipation assimilation, race, class, and political power.
