This assignment allowed us to get to know our locker mate more. This actually helped a lot as an ice breaker. My partner was who I shared my locker with the first semester and she had to do a portrait of me while I did one of her. Our seminar class allowed us to spend a whole class together in the city shopping and hanging out. From this we had to gather everything we learned and create a portrait. I decided to document our journey that day.
This is a quick sketch I did in Photoshop to visualize what it would look like.
I drew this image with charcoal on a large roll of paper.
Then for the middle image I photo transferred my partners portrait and rubbed it with some charcoal dust. This gave it a reflective feeling. For the filmstrips I also did photo transfers of moments my partner and I had with a little caption underneath each one.
