First assembled the monument then made different animations that I could put at the top that show different ways that animation was used for. After I chose one animation to make longer for the monument. Next day I proceeded to paint the memorial along with the small models of the Animation Instruments and make the entire memorial spin.
I wanted to design a memorail that’s interactive with public in a fun way. I was really set on my first sketch where it looked more like a roll of film but it didn’t align with my research. When the film was removed and I looked back over my research I noticed I have the top half of the walls animate when the entire monument spins.
Brainstorm of how i want to design my memorial to traditional animation techniques.
For our guide book we wanted to people to observe a place but only using one sense. We wanted to adress the common habit of looking down at our phones and listening to music which distracts us from fully observing a place. So we blindfolded everyone to relieve them of their since of sight and made them focus through one of the senses: Sound, Touch, and Smell. A video was made documenting their experiences and how they felt. We made a guide book that is a describes the different emotional transitions they made throughout the experience : From Fear to Relaxed to Relieved. The guide serves as a way for it to be done in any place.
