Bridge One: Analyzing people on the streets

I saw this woman in a sushi store close to my home in Long Island. While the town is religious, you never see women like this except in a town in Israel called Tzfat, where this is very much how everyone dresses. She is wearing an african pattern on a beige long ruffled cardigan that drapes over her pregnant belly. Her fur hooded black jacket falls loosely off her. Under her clothing she is wearing a tight brown shirt and a brown maxi skirt. She is covering her hair with the three same patters found on her clothing. While extremely covered, she is practicing the Jewish rule of being modest, called tzniyut. Her outfit looks as if she was wearing a lot of random, nice articles of clothing. They come together looking a little all over the place but individually would be very nice. This says about her that she chooses simplicity and modesty, and while she cares about what she looks like putting nice clothing on, she layers as much as she needs to to look modest, and to protect her from harsh winter winds. This modesty of her clothing translates a feeling of modesty and it seems as if she was quiet and calm.

This woman was wearing a long black trench coat with a knit gray sweater under, with a white tank top with beads beaded into the chest. On the bottom, she is wearing loose fitted jeans and gray uggs on the bottom. Her outfit, makes her seem as if she wasn’t from New York at all. She reminds me of a woman I once saw uptown who was from Russia. She looks like she was trying to dress warm while simultaneously seeming fashionable. She was wearing a mix of comfortable articles of clothing while all seeming easy mixed and matched. Each article of clothing is slightly basic and would look good with many different colors, patterns and textures. Her outfit makes her seem sad, like she tried to put on a fashionable outfit, but also seeming like she rolled out of bed and put whatever is comfortable on, a step away from wearing pajamas. Her outfit makes her seem calm and laid back, caring but not caring too much about how she looks.

This woman was standing outside of Parsons on her way to somewhere else when I saw her. In this pictures she is wearing a long gray coat, a sleek looking black shirt under the coat. She is wearing mustard colored jeans over black leather boots. She is carrying a large soft leather pocketbook and over her shoulder is a small blue messenger bag. Her hair, pulled back in to a comfortable looking bun. She seems comfortable and extremely collected. She looks like she cares about how she looks, her outfit which while fashionable and sleek, looks comfortable and smart. Her clothing is nice, sensible and warm. She cares about her looks but also cares about comfort and warmth. Based off of her clothing, this woman seems smart and sensible. Her bun, makes her looked even more clean and collected than her outfit already makes her look. Her clean look makes her look confident and classy, she seems extremely collected.
