Deconstruction Process (prom dress to baby carrousel)

In class we discussed the meaning of ‘deconstruction’, taking something apart and using the parts to make a functional object. I bought an old prom dress to deconstruct for this project. Being a fine arts major, sewing is not me forte so I experimented with the materials to make a chandelier, while midst the process, I decided to change it into a toy carousel for children. I used wire to make a base for the carousel which can be seen on the bottom.
