Title of Work: Les Vêtements
My idea for the project is to create a short looping video of 1-2 second clips. The clips will be of different outfits/clothing pieces inside Nile’s closet, each displayed on a hanger against a white background from the same angle. It is a study of fashion and how much we can understand about a person by simply their clothing. I will also create a voice over of antonymic words, one word for each clip. The words are to describe Nile and her clothing, but also as antonyms, represent the juxtaposition, contrast, and black-and-white-ness she has experienced in her life.
