Trevor Paglen Exhibition

I didn’t really appreciate the exhibition until I stopped for a moment to read the summary and purpose.  Trevor explores the geography of the NSA surveillance network through covert operations and underwater exploration.  He is trying to expose the stronghold they have on our networks and the power of their oversight on it’s citizens and other countries. I took this selfie in front of one of the underwater photos because IMG_1664I thought that it was very clever to install cables in the ocean and make them look like wreckage or debris. This took Trevor a lot of effort and I find it inspiring his level of dedication.  Some would call him a paranoid conspiracy theorist, but I say that there is a lot of balance created by watching the watchers. I have heard of the Tor Network earlier this year through my own discovery, so it’s interesting to see an exhibition on the power of the NSA and a demonstration of the Tor network. I actually downloaded the Tor browser the next day. This is my sense.

The nonsense was my critique of the film and it’s editing. I think it could have been shot better and edited better.

Overall, I connected with the exhibition and appreciate it’s availability to the public.
