I am going to do what may be considered a performance piece with video interactiveness.  I will be using video to take the class on a journey through transformation.

• Describe how you engage with SHIFT in this project

The shift in this project will take place with the audiences engagement with the film. The journey will begin as soon as I leave the classroom which will seem to be what seems like a live video stream. I will go on a spontaneous journey around the city and when I return I will be wearing different clothes and clean shaven.

• Discuss SHIFT in terms of ideas/concept & method/materials – How will you use your medium of choice to actively support and reflect your ideas.

When I leave the room, the audience has no choice but to believe what is on the screen.  They will begin to question the reality of the film and the course of events, but hopefully at the same time entertain the audience to the point they forget the authenticity and are totally immersed.   Some questions may be blurted out during class.  It will become obvious through the special effects that the video is not in real time, so the new question will will ponder my return.  This performance piece will be a psychological mystery.

 

• Timeline – What will be done when?

At this point I am working on filming, editing, and special effects which can be very time consuming. I don’t have everything story boarded yet because new ideas keep coming. I do have footage now and will continue to shoot while posting updates on my LP.
