Bridge 5

Reflect on the hopes and fears/worries you expressed during the first class session. Which hopes have been fulfilled this semester?
My hope was to improve my writing skill and learn how to write more advanced after I finish this class. My fear was to scare to loose connections and miss the instructions with the teacher and classmates. I think the hope has been fulfilled at the end of the semester. My writing got improved, and I’m not afraid to talk in the class anymore.

!

Unfulfilled? Which fears or worries did you overcome, and which still remain?
The fear that got overcome was to not to afraid of speaking in class in front of the classmates. One is still remain is to use high-quality words in the essay.

!

How has your relationship to writing, reading, art, design, and making changed over the course of the semester?
It has been changed to have a wider choice by learning and knowing things from the other and having comments back from the teacher. The relationship had been gotten much closer to writing, reading and art while I was making things and writing things a lot.

!

What have you discovered about the relationship between making, thinking, and writing?
I think the relationship between making, thinking and writing are like a family, and it’s a process which leads me learn more about how to write a good essay and improve on the writing skill more. They all relate to each other, because we all need to think first, then make things happen and then write for it to discuss .

!

How did mistakes or failed attempts at making and developing your Studio and Seminar projects lead you into new directions and open up new possibilities?

The failed attempts and mistakes from both classes lead me into new directions by learning to try new things and never give up to stop. Also, I got very excited to try new materials and things during each project which was very fun.

!

What risks did you take this semester? Why? Which risks did you decide against taking? Why? (Please be as specific as possible.)
The risks are to touch new materials on each different project and afraid of the mistakes, and having wrong instruction during this class to write about the essay. I decide against taking risks and experiences like losing time and have a bad time management on the project, because I think it’s very important to make sure yourself have enough time to finish your project and ready to discuss.

!

What pursuits, interests, and goals have you discovered this semester, and how did your course work lead you to these discoveries? What do you hope to pursue further in the future?
The goals and interests that I discovered this semester which was to learn more useful vocabularies were very important, and I look for more readings in class, and also have more time to learn things from others. I hope to pursue further more on the my vocabularies in the future, because I really want to improve more on those.

!

How, specifically, do you feel you can continue to grow as a maker and writer? What would be helpful for your continued growth?
Trough this semester in the class studio and seminar, I really learned a lot on how to create a new creation based on the my idea I had and intend it and translate the work to words in the seminar class. I feel that I become more confident after taking this class by learning and growing my writing skill since English is my second language.
