This project is supposed to make a cultural container. the object I contain is embroideries of the letter of my name, but in three different language. As I am Manchu (one of the minority nationalities in China), I sewed Manju, Mandarin and Dongba (another nationality in China, which is also a culture that I am interested in)text on a fabric ball.
Materials that used on final project:plexiglas, wood, muslin, thread (for mechanical connections).
Platonic solids models for basic structures.
Own created platonic solids from three different directions.
Chipboard models and working on inner structures.
Sketches and measuring the size of each pieces.
Laser Cut
Using Dremel to make the letters (Manchu letters from one of the Chinese minority nationalities).
The whole project is connected by thread.
These are Dongba script from Nakhi nationality, which is the only hieroglyphic legacy in China right now. These letters will be embroideries. The scripts represent happiness, friendship and love (from left to right).
