I am going to make a sculpture that shows the huge differences of central park when there were a lot of ice and today’s central park where is a stone sculpture now. Through the contrast, we can notice the climate change issue; think of our soundings that how many of the places have the same condition, and to believe how this problem is so important to us. I believe that a good artist is not being self-centered, but to take account into people’s needs and provide help. Sometimes, artists need to show facts that people usually overlooked as well as share beauty through artworks.

Project: Waste Land

The link here is a short trailer of the movie “Waste Land”, the whole movie actually records the whole process of making the final art piece. Vik is a Brazilian artist, a few years ago, he chose a waste land in Brazil and stayed there for 3 years, he took pictures of the garbage pickers , who worked there for categorizing recyclable garbages, and they reenact some famous paintings’ gesture and created huge collages by using recyclable garbages, and the final piece is a serious of photographs taken from the collages.
