Description of Concept:
My concept was to show firsthand accounts of what it is like being a student in this time of gun violence and domestic terrorism. My friend was the inspiration for this video, but I also wanted to discuss how the phenomena isn’t restricted to one affected area. I intended it to show how students are emotionally affected about the increasing presence of guns and shootings happening at schools, by using messages sent to me as the shooting happened, my friend’s first hand video, and interviews conducted with two random Parsons’ students. In choosing the shots for this video, I decided to keep it as simple and unobtrusive as possible, just so not to overwhelm the viewer with a lot of visual information.
