Homework 7/11- Reading on Tony Hiss and R. Murray Schafer

Tony Hiss’s essay expresses the idea and true meaning of “deep travel”. His views are described as “never-before considered details”, “sense of here and now”, and “sense of wonder”. He uses these exact word to express that a single subject or in terms of photography, a single photo has a lot more meaning behind it than what it shows through the shell. Just like inner beauty in humans objects and pictures of objects have a store behind it and more details than you’ll ever know. Deep travel can be found through wonder induction helping bring thought to each small detail and beyond that the human eye meets. This essay was beautifully written and i very much agree and relate to Tony Hiss’s thoughts. His view points on travel and taking every last detail in and question whats beyond is exactly what i do when i take picture and travel. R. Murray Schafer’s essay describes the dynamics of soundscape. And how sounds are constantly changing. Its strong points produces the words “every sound commits suicide”. This describes his out look on soundscape. He explains how each sound is attached to certain things and thats what makes sounds so unique. You decided to give us this reading to find another outlook on photography and how to take pictures beyond capturing a certain thing but to ask questions and explore it rather. All in all this will help me in photography by giving me another outlook and going above and beyond to capture something great and create a story out of ti.
