In the middle ages, black letters/ Gothic style letter were considered as normal letter forms. They were what people see every day in scripts and read in a normal sense. In today’s world, black letters are treated as special typefaces or decorations. They are not in our daily reading anymore. Our perception of what is letter has changed over decades, and it is still changing as the technologies are more and more advanced. Maybe some day in the future, we might not have a physical reading and writing surface.
