1) How would you define the Anthropocene? How does the Anthropocene affect your life in New York or in your home country?
“Anthropocene” is the current period of history in which human activity has been effect on the earth’s ecological conditions. Because of the Anthropocene, there are many city in china has been living in a place full of smoke. Also, due to the large demand of p-Xylene, the government in shanghai try to move the factor into a large place which need people who used to live surrounding the factor move out. Also, due to the P-Xylene might bring a big damage of the environment and affect human body, there was more than three million citizens having a parade to against this program.
2) What does the report say causes a degradation (damage) to human health in the Anthropocene?
The environment causes the damage to human health in the Anthropocene. Such problems as ocean acidification, depleted water sources, polluted land, depletion of dish stocks and loss of biodiversity.
2) What are 3-4 causes of the health effects?
Lower zinc in crops, decline of bees and other pollinators and increase levels of carbon dioxide are cause of the health effects.
3) What are some of the health effects that humans will face?
Decrease of the human immune systems, and growth of children might be ill or hypogenetic. Human will also facing missing vitamin A and folate, indispensable for children and preganant woman. People would have an increase in heart disease, strokes and cancer.
4) How might designers help lessen the effects of the Anthropocene?
Designers must work together to deal with of effect, and reducing carbon emissions, setting limits on pollution and working worldwide to halt environmental demage.
6) Research the current drought in California. Write a few sentences about how this drought affects your life in New York (include citations of your research)
Matt Stevens report in Los Angeles Times: “ California is entering its fours consecutive year of drought.” In this report, matt mentioned that it was too dry, and I can feel that in New York. Due to the drought, the temperature has been increase a lot in this summer. While I was spent my summer in New York, I could feel how hot it is.
