This image, which I found in Vogue website, is one of the Vetements’s 2017 spring collection. Vetements is a new fashion brand that the fashion world can’t stop buzzing about, and this brand has had an indisputable influence on the fashion industry. Vetements’s head designer is Demna Gvasalia, who is now working for Balenciaga as the design director. Even though Demna Gvasalia is focusing on women’s wear in Balenciaga, his own brand, Vestments, is about more likely to design unisex garments. About this image, I was eye catching by the garment first. This garment gave me a feeling that it might be an office lady wear her husband’s business suit by accident. However, when u take a second look of this garment, my point of view has changed. This garment is like a protest of an official uniform. By looking at this garment, I felt the freedom of the body. Do we have to wear a fit suit? After looking at this garment, my answer is no. Instead of a formfitting business suit, why not wearing an oversizing suit, which can give your body a little bit space, and give your life a little bit ease. For myself, unisex is a brand new area in fashion industry, and no clear line of gander might be another way to experience how does garments do with body or how does the body do with garments.
