The themes emerged in my dress practice log is gender. From the seven days dress practice log, I notice that there was two days I chosen to wear skirt or dress. The reason that I chosen to wear the long pleat skirt was it can protect my legs from the cold wind and it was more comfortable for sitting too much. The reason that I chosen to wear a shirtdress was about the convenience that I had in the morning of chooing the garment hang in the middel of the closete. None of the reason was relied on I want to become girly. Also, those days I also combine the dress with the unisex garment. Then, go back to the seven days log, I realized that my daily dress practice is about comfortable and my garments are usually unisex. From the dress practice log, I realized that clothing is not only about cover our body, but also makes our body comfortable from the design, material and the shapes. It reminds me of the trends about oversize and unisex. Nowadays, more people will question about how does the gender impact the fashion industry. I think, due to the social issue about homosexuality, so many designers put their brand’s selling points on unisex, such as Vetements. It is a good result for telling the world that fashion industry is also pay attention on homosexuality, and may be on gender equality.
