My walk took place late at night, when most of New York city was asleep. As I was leaving central park, the first thing I noticed was the tremendous amounts of trash bags just laying on the sidewalk. Each block, there were at least 7 trash bags waiting to be picked up. As I passed them, they each released a very foul odor into the air. There was also a lot of smoke coming from the sewers underneath, which would cloud my vision at times. The weather felt very clear, however the air did not feel very fresh. At times, I could even see progressive waste solution trucks pass by me and garbage trucks. I also walked by the Morningside Heights Park, but it was not very crowded during that time.
