BRIDGE 2 PART 2

interview

I begin by asking for her name and age, and then I ask her one question, and carry the conversation from there.

Where is home for you?

*these are my notes from the interview.

Jocelyn –> 25 years old –> California, family + friends –> Mexican neighborhood –> Mexican originally –> visits Mexico a few times a year –> parents are married, 1 older sister works for the county government –> close with parents, comfortable –> really close with mom –> also close with new dog that she just got –> immediate connection –> “Shaggy” , 2 weeks –> lives alone –> lives in Boston, student in uni –> visiting NY –> friend @ NYU –> friends in Boston graduated –> lonely –> dog = companionship –> just moved out of dorms + always wanted a dog –> Boston is too cold –> graduating soon, unsure where to go –> stay in east coast or go to family –> really wants to be independent but is too scared to officially move to east coast alone without support –> Shaggy will help with this –> registered dog as emotional support animal –> goes everywhere with her –> annoying because has to keep dogs papers on her at all times –> dog gives her sense of responsibility –>never learned how to be responsible –> very reckless during teenage years/beginning of college –> at first, very depressed/homesick –> recently got better –> Boston very different than Cali, no sense of home in Boston until now –> slowly starting to feel like home –> weird for her to think Boston is where she lives
