I’ve been interested in architecture before knowing what architecture was. As I think about it, this comes from witnessing the destruction of my city, seen through mortar shell wholes on walls of buildings. I always wondered why citizens of my country accepted to demolish the basic of my city’s old architecture, known as the typical Lebanese house.
Why is that my country has been rebuilt and destroyed 7 times? And why is that we’ve been stuck in this perpetual cycle for a very long time? I have no power over this. After being threatened by an 8th war, I’d like to make a change, through my art no matter how small.
