Time Square

  1.  Even it is called Time square but there is no realationship with Time.
  2. In 1904, Albert Ochs, publisher of The New York Times, gave name to the square.
  3. Before 1904, it called Longacre Square.
  4. At the begining, Longarce Square only has few buildings. A developer thought this Square had potential for a new “uptown” neighborhood. Following the development , soon the area turned into a veritable red-light district.
  5. People are allowed to smoke in Time Square.
  6. Many people come to Times Square for the ambiance and the billboards spectacle, but there are also many restaurants and shops.
  7. ABC’s good morning are filmed in Time Square.
  8. Paramount Building is the icon of Time Square.
  9. About million people would be together to celebrate the ‘Dropping of the Ball’ in new year’s eve.
  10. Time square is the one of most visted place. About 131 million would acrossed Time Square per year.
