I believe The quote “Perhaps we can think of fashion as custom for a time and culture as custom over time” from cultural fashion studies (Kaiser) is trying to convey the difference in culture when it comes to custom over time or custom for a time. In other words, Fashion is so fast paced in today’s society which we call fast fashion; with a blink of an eye a trend change to a different trend. That’s where I believe “custom for a time” is implied. We all follow a trend, but trends aren’t suppose to last so it only last for a certain time. However, “custom over time” to me means seeing culture as custom over time. In other words, culture never changes, it’s carried through generations. Fashion can impact fashion but I don’t think it can change it because it has already had a strong foundation. This is a final for integrative studio and seminar 2 .

The Mind of the Homeless exhibit is created to
show the perspective of what an individual that’s
homeless goes through. In april 2017 there were 61, 277 homeless people
spending each night on the street. This exhibit has been created to
spread awareness on a topic that is very significant yet not much light is shed on.
To spread awareness I’ve decided to bring art into the topic,
and why not collaborate with one of the leading pop art
movement artist, late Andy Warhol. I’ve decided to replae the doors with
Andy Warhol’s famous wprk campbell soup, instead of using marliyn Monroe, Im
using pictures of people that are homeless that I’ve spent time interviewing and inside
thatere willl be a room with a booth that you can individualy hear the intervire and
hear the experiences of homless people, first hand. You will receive a can in which you
can donate.

This memory filled house was inspired by my dads creation of a card board house for me to have my tea parties in. So for project 2 for design studio I decided to build a card board house filled with pictures of my friends, family and relatives, first o painted it black then i decided too smear different colors of paint on it with my hands and to give it a personal touch I decided to have my family put their hand prints on the walls and roof with paint. To symbolize our strength as a family and how we work together to build a house and keep it strong by giving our own contributions as individuals for our family.
