Material Investigation: Paint
For my second material investigation I used some brightly colored felt and a variety of acrylic paints and mediums. I used 3 different types of paint to see which would work the best of the fabric (I chose felt because it seemed like one of the harder things to cover so I wanted to know which method would work the best.) I mixed each paint with varnish, gloss medium, pouring medium, fiber paste, and molding paste in order to see how each responded to the fabric.
Observation: Light
Lighting will be very important to this project, especially in the interior space of my room. The position of the corner directly by the window means that the light changes frequently with the time of day. Every three hours I documented the lighting environment by doing a small sketch of the windowsill area.
