1. Materials
    1. Low Ecoatedglass: Low Emittance glass glass allows for the maximum amount of sun light to pass through with out allowing as much heat or cold in.
    2. Steel: Steel is one of the most common materials used in skyscrapers and to make steel, one must first mine for iron ore and then alloy it with carbon.
    3. Cast stone/precast concrete:This material is created when sand and gravel are bound together with water and this natural material allows for a more constant temperature.
    4. Plastic:The most harmful of these materials, plastic is a synthetic material made of organic polymers.
  2. The materiality of the Hearst towers gives the visitors a very clean, modern, and transparent feel when entering the building. This is acquired with the use of planer materials and mass produced materials. The Hearst tower is also amongst the top of the list when it comes to energy efficient buildings due to its materiality. The Hearst coated glass allows for the most light possible to go through, this coated glass covers almost the entirety of the building, that gives any person in the inside a vantage point from where ever they are standing. This coated glass also helps prevent energy overuse by limiting the requirement of artificial light. Adding to the list of efficiency, the Hearst tower also features a triangulated steel exoskeleton that helps cut down the need for steel by 20% thanks to the robust material and

formation of the material.
