The project was completed throughout a series of different iterations in which kerf cuts were applied to different types of woods to make them more flexible. The kerf cuts also created a perforated surface which made the wood visually appealing and the wood also gained a new texture which opened a new door of possibilities for the wood pieces. The whole process was educational in the sense that I got to learn a lot about the different properties of wood and how that impacted the final outcome. Also, partnering up with one of my classmates, Angelo, also thought me about hardware because he was more knowledgable than I in that aspect. Ultimately, I learned a lot about the importance of iteration and problem solving because nothing really seemed to go our way while developing this project but outside the box thinking and playing with materials helped us persevere. IMG_2281 thumb_IMG_2996_1024 thumb_IMG_2998_1024light studies final pin-up materiality final1
