Students first made a variety of textures in their sketchbook using vine and compressed charcoal. They photographed their textures as well as others made by classmates. They then used Google Image to find objects that represented something of personal significance to them. The outlines where traced and used as shapes within the digital compositions. Students experimented with mirroring and repeating shapes to create patterns. We also made mandalas by repeating and mirroring our drawings in a radial pattern.
