He plants the Orchid the same day of the opening of the exhibition of Orchids at the Conservatory.
Background
The plant is in danger of extinction that is one of the few plants that remain in the world.
The plant was in a tropical environment, very humid and warm.
Conflict/Crisis
The plant is dying, the environment and the traveling has done a lot of damage to its physical appearance.
The Orchid is one of the main attractions of the show and is the main cover used to advertise the exhibition, people are looking forward to see it.
Development
The management of the Botanical Garden discuses what should happen, and with what they are going to replace the the Orchid.
End
They replace the plant and everyone loved the exhibition.

You present some interesting issues: species extinction/endangerment, the pressing need to entertain people/visitors, and how we try to keep things alive that don’t seem to be thriving in a particular environment.
