These two designs incorporate vibrant colors that are not usually combined. Both garments feel modern, but at the same time regal. The flares of the dress and the skirt diffuse the European and the American high fashion styles. These designs are timeless and elegant. I believe these designs are successful because they are simple, but at the same time sophisticated. On the other hand, Mizrahi combines styles that are normally attributed to Europeans and Africans. For example, the flares give the designs an European touch, while the fabric wrap around the head of the mannequins allude to African headpieces. In addition, the white T-shirt adds an American touch to the skirt. Overall, Isaac Mizrahi designs are successful because he diffuses cultures and therefore is able to reach the taste of the great mass.
