In Schütz’s, “The Stranger”, the topic of becoming familiar with a new community through experiencing the unknown, is discussed. Throughout my junior high and high school career, I was constantly dragged to new schools across the state and placed in a new environment each time. I found that the beginning process of adapting is the most difficult, yet the time to analyze and observe the established community. With this you have the ability to find the people who are welcoming and assist with the transition in this new community. You are given advice but there is room for self discovery.
